impulse response 土：この場所に応答する衝動, April 2022 土を介して、どのような場所への衝動的応答 (impulse response) を人々は持つのでしょう。 今回は、そのような衝動に際して、感じるだけではなく、表現手法を用いコミュニケーションをする技能を持つ人々、すなわち応答を期に関係性／リレーションを作る方々にフィールドワークを行なって頂きました。 その観察者として、これまでなぜ人は絵を描くのかという探究を、チンパンジーや幼少期の人間を対象に、「新しいことへの応答」、またそれを介した認知の形成を見てきた認知科学者にお願いしました。 この場所への衝動的応答から見える、この場所の可能性の束を言葉で記録しました。そのような記録を通して、線画、映像、絵画、レリーフなどの作品群がこの場所に残りました。 2022年4月 ー rereading fieldwork by Taku Furukawa Keiji Ito Kintaro…

research retreat / cultivating memu Tomoko Hojo July 5th – July 26th, 2021 Text by Tomoko Hojo (Sound Artist) ー 寒の季節に向かう11月末、遠く離れた北海道のメムで過ごした目まぐるしい3週間を思い出そうとしている。はじめて訪れたこの地での体験は、大袈裟ではなく本当に目（耳）新しいことばかりで、肌を刺すような強い紫外線で灼かれた日焼け跡とともに今もこの身体に染み付いている。野生のキノコ狩りからはじまり、年に1度沼の水を抜いて行われるシジミ狩り漁の見学や、野生のヒグマ（と思われるもの）、鹿、狐、狸たちとの遭遇、数百羽のオオセグロカモメの大群がいる漁港や海岸脇の竪穴式住居跡での即興演奏、狩りに同行して録音した着弾音など、多様な出来事が凝縮された3週間だった。以下、写真と音源で滞在中の活動を振り返りたい。 聴くこと、命を守ること…
